Trump’s Project 2025 on

Racial Equity

When the Supreme Court ruled that affirmative action was unconstitutional in 2023, thousands of Gen Z students across the country rallied in support of protecting diversity and equity in higher education. Project 2025 threatens to rollback diversity and equity protections in education, as well as in federal agencies, labor, and in relation to foreign aid.

According to Project 2025, an incoming conservative administration would:

  • Dismantle USAID’s DEI apparatus by eliminating the Chief Diversity Officer position along with the DEI advisers and committees
  • Advocate for the Secretary of Education to “insist that the department serve parents and American ideals, not advocates whose message is that children can choose their own sex, that America is “systemically racist,” that math itself is racist, and that Martin Luther King, Jr.’s ideal of a colorblind society should be rejected in favor of reinstating a color-conscious society” (page 286)
  • Encourage the President to issue an executive order prohibiting the federal government from spending money on “critical race theory training”
  • Encourage Congress to pass a law prohibiting the federal government from spending money on “critical race theory training”
  • Eliminate EEO-1 data collection, which collects information about racial diversity in the American workforce
  • Eliminate disparate impact as a valid theory of discrimination for race and other bases under Title VII and other laws
