WASHINGTON, D.C. – Gen Z-led group Voters of Tomorrow announced today that it will file a formal complaint with the Office of Congressional Ethics after two of its staffers were physically and verbally attacked by Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene. In a viral video shared by the Congresswoman, she is seen kicking the group’s 18-year-old Deputy Communications Director Marianna Pecora and yelling xenophobic remarks at Executive Director Santiago Mayer, a 20-year-old Mexican immigrant. The two were questioning the Congresswoman on gun violence in schools. Jack Lobel, spokesperson for the group Voters of Tomorrow, issued the following statement:

“Violence and xenophobia are always wrong, and we must hold members of Congress to those standards as well. Voters of Tomorrow intends to file a formal complaint with the Office of Congressional Ethics against Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene because she must be held accountable for her physical and verbal attacks on our staff. We hope this sends a strong message to the Congresswoman and other far-right politicians: we will fight back against their continued strikes against our generation. We look forward to continuing to have productive discussions, such as the 75 bipartisan meetings we held at the Capitol and White House the week of the encounter, with our allies to fight for youth rights.”

Mayer and Pecora confronted Rep. Greene about her dangerous stances on gun safety in schools. Soon after the encounter, Rep. Greene tweeted the video and doubled down on her xenophobic attack on Mayer in a follow-up tweet. The complaint with the Office of Congressional Ethics will accuse Rep. Greene of conduct unbecoming of a member of Congress. Rule XXIII, Clause 1 of the Rules of the House requires a member to “behave at all times in a manner that shall reflect creditably on the House.”
